Daydreaming in the Forest
Do mushrooms dream ?
While I like to explore new parts of the Forest,
I keep coming back to a few special places and this is one of them.
There is such a peaceful vibe.
Upon arrival you are greeted by this amazing bunch of trees
which I have called "The Three Bards"...
Just look at this Bard's beautiful beard !
Not far from the "Three Bards" is this amazing tree,
looking kindly mischievous
and ready to walk towards you at any time !
I have called it the Fairy Tree :-)
Enchanted encounter with a woodland creature
trying to escape notice
by pretending to be dead wood...
A little worn out and withered, hiding in the darkest area of the Forest
but still the king of all Mushrooms !

We got lost but what better place to be lost than in the Forest ?
Fairy Steps...

I love how they look like tiny flames under a Petrify spell !

I wonder about the ancient folk beliefs that earn it this Fairy tale common name ...
Slime molds are quite a mysterious thing as they have the characteristics of both fungi and animals !
Stairway to Heaven ?
According to some legend, these are the hoofprints of Odin's horse Sleipnir.
Ancient Germanic tribes used to live here so a lot of places in the Forest bear names from the Norse mythology.
Before them wre the Celts though, so this could very well be an ancient Druid place of sun worship ?
In any case, it is a magical place...
Before leaving, we met this amazing Mushroom family...
